Firex Smoke Alarms History
Firex smoke alarm business has been recently
purchased by Kidde. Kidde has been in the safety business for over 100 years.
Kidde will be moving forward with the Firex brand name and will be producing
and distributing popular Firex branded products through its ditribution
channels. Additionally, Kidde will be adding the Firex brand names to some of
its exsisting and future smoke alarms which will typically be referred to in
the future as Kidde Firex models. It the transition, some of the Firex models
will be receiving a new part number for the identical alarm which will cause
some confusion. Kidde is will be discontinuing some of the firex models but is
committed to continued production of the common moduels listed below. Here is
a table with the old model numbers and new model numbers being converted.
